Hmmm....how I was called to the missions field.....well I guess it all started when I found out about it haha. I remember my parents having these home groups or some people call them "house church" and they had alot of friends in their...oh I'd say 20s?ย They were all interested in being missionaries. They wanted to go to India and Mexico and Africa! I had always thought that was super exciting! That was when I was pretty little though....like seven or something. Even still, I had always wanted to go to other countries and play with kids from a different culture. When I was eight my family and I went on a vacation/dive trip to Tahiti! It was'nt really official or anything but I did meet some French Polenesian girls there and ministered to them. Haha funny story while I was there, there were these two boys and I started to talking to them in english. Well they started to talk to me in French while I was asking them "do you know Jesus?" and after I figured out they did'nt speak english and I said "I'm sorry i don't speak english". Haha who knows why I said that but they laughed and walked away. Years later I got involved with a youth group called the Lakeside Imitators. We were and still are Imitators of Christ(Ephesians 5:1...its a sweet verse!). I believe I was 13 when I started going there; this youth group defiantely was different and changed my life quite a bit. It soon became my home and I had an amazing youth leader Jon Garcia! Well during the month of March 2008 there was a missions trip planned to go to Mexico for one week....my parents of course having no other kids interested in missions trips said no:(. After my youth minister talked to them and after they called the organization they said yes! I was so so so excited! Mexico was my first official missions trip. We were in need of about 2000 dollars with one month to raise the money....yes, we were able to raise it with change left over! We drove down there from Atascadero California with three cars and about 19 youth kids, 7 sponsors and one youth leader. We bonded like you could'nt imagine! We grew from that trip so much as a family and in our faith. We had teams and each day a different team in our group did the vacation bible school for that day. We slept in cramped tents together, worshiped and loved children. We built a bathroom and gave so many papuchies! The day we left almost every girl was crying. saying goodbye was so hard to do.....just goes to show the empact we had on eachother. The bottom line is that expireance changed my life drastically for the better. As days go by I realize more and more how worthless this world is, how every child of God is bleeiding and crying to get rid of the sick curruption this world is throwing at our faces. I want to show people the way out of the pain. So many times I've questioned if God is real or not. He's told me himself he is. Time is running out, action must be taken if we want to be victorious! This is my reasons for wanting to be out on the missions field. Pick up your armor and tools and fight the good fight!:)
